lucy lou hobbs

Our Lucy Lou has finally arrived and our feet have yet to hit the ground. It is a joy to watch Lindsey and Tyler begin their family together and see the complete love they have for this little one. Now they are getting some needed rest in the hospital before heading home. Due on the 17th, they started to induce her early Monday morning. 24 hours of labor and Lindsey was so bone tired. 3 hours of pushing and finally they put a suction cup on her head and the doctor pulled Lucy out with all of her strength. Our worried prayers that all would be well were answered. Born September 25, 2012. 7lbs. 11oz. 19.5". I love the middle name they gave her after Larry's Mom, Betty Lou.

Memories of labor time:
Everyone slowly trickled into the room during the day, yes we had things to do, but there was no place we would rather be. Kelsie read the Color Code Book and quizzed everyone to see what color they were, she is mostly red like me and is slightly horrified and wonders if anyone will still like us (the blues in our family may not). Tyler's Mom and Dad went shopping for Rook Cards and came back empty handed. Abby wearing down my camera battery taking the same photo of her shoes over and over again. Lindsey's contractions were consistently 5 minutes apart, never closer. Praying. The way Lindsey would roll her eyeballs when the nurse would tell her to save her energy for the next contraction... she swore a couple of times too. The feeling that nothing else mattered, like the world stopped. Chewing on pebble ice. Complete tiredness. Lucy arrived one minute before Kelsie was due to work in the ICU at the hospital. Peanut MMs. More people than seats. Worry and more worry. Cafeteria food. Thinking that Jack seemed huge! Being together for each other... knowing we are so blessed to be a part of each other's lives through all of life's ups and downs.

What a long labor for our Lindsey plus three hours of pushing! Lucy is so beautiful and look at all that hair. She is finally here, safe and sound in her mother and father 's arms. Jack does look so big now. I can't wait to hold my new little grand niece...Lucy Lou!
