Saturday in the Mountains

Yesterday we hiked above Alpine (Utah) to a little lake that Ransom had discovered. I don't even think this place has a name, but it was sure delightfully fun. Ransom picked up an old bike at the thrift store and smartly put a life jacket on it. Ransom brought a fishing pole and thought he would try to catch a fish. We all pretty much thought he was crazy, but sure enough, he caught a fish on his first cast within 30 seconds... all 5" of it! The ones that dared, would ride the bike down the bumpy trail, hit the jump and land in the water. The rest of us held our breath and said a prayer hoping they would be safe. Jeff did crash and got scratched up... he will surely be sore in the morning. Ransom showed up with his new facial hair, always surprising us... today it's the handle bar mustache. I did over sun-block Katie and got some in her eyes. Abby didn't want to come, but we made her anyway, knowing she would end up having a good time... she let us know she didn't.

We also hiked up to these natural falls filled with water straight from the snowfall. The water was freezing... probably as cold as water can get before it freezes. I can't believe Ransom stayed in the water to help everyone as long as he did. The rocks were pretty smooth for the most part, but we walked away with plenty of bumps and bruises. We will be back soon!

Oh my gosh I wish I was there...that water looks cold. I showed the boys the fun you had and they said "cool!" Ransom is definitely full of life. I noticed the handle bar mustache right away:) I bet Life is never dull with Ransom. Charles would be right by his side.

Oh my gosh, you must tell me where this place is! Looks like you had a blast! I've seen pictures of the bike place but never the waterfall.
Also, I need to be schooled in the art of putting multiple images on one photo thing.
