For the Love of Ashlee...

There are some things we just do because we love someone. Actually there are a lot off things we do because of love. So when Ashlee asked what I was doing on Thursday at 7pm because she was having a Mary Kay Home Party that she could not get out of, we came to support. Amy the demonstrator could not have been nicer and more poised, which made it ever more comical... after all, it was just Ashlee, Abby, Miranda and I, completely non-makeup people.

When she asked what we wash our faces with, she was a bit surprised when I said nothing really. I shampoo my hair and wash it with the extra lather that falls in my face. My traveling ziplock bag for my toothbrush, floss, lotion & chapstick, paled in comparison compared to their luxury bag. But no more impulse purchasing for me... I went home empty handed. There is no doubt that I look better with a little make up, but I have never had an interest in it. Maybe that will change through the years? Not sure. I do like their skin care products, but they seem rather complicated compared to my smear whatever lotion from wherever on my face routine. There are so many choices out there. So friends... I am asking you, what skin care products do you use & why? Help me out here please!

Brenda, you are too cute! I absolutely adore you sweet no make up face!! I grew up with a mom who always said, " Mandi, never go anywhere without your lipstick and earrings on!" So I obviously am a gigantic fan of it! Although, sometimes I wish I didn't care about it so much. I know Josh loves me either way but maybe I should try going for the "fresh face" look. You and your girls always look amazing, maybe I could too? I don't have any products to swear by, but I do really love the Oil of Olay brand of micro dermabrasion face cloths every night before bed. It makes my skin feel nice and clean and smooth. Try it sometime!

Two faves:

• Dove Deep Moisture Facial Lotion with SPF 15...get something with SPF! I love using this one daily. It's cheap and does the job!

• Clinique Moisture Surge...makes your skin feel like silk! Feels best right after using an exfoliator. Doesn't have an SPF, so I like to use this before bed.

Long story/made short. 8 years ago,I was caught in florida during a class 2 hurricane With no choices, I had to take refuge in a XXX bar. Sitting around with stippers for 12 hours behind boarded windows, needless to say, a lot of secrets were revealed. #1. baby lotion followed up with talc (or corn starch) makes for very cheap smooth and soft skin. ( Would've thought, works well on babybums why not faces, legs and arms). #2 baking soda is a great exfoliater. #3. always wear sunscreen! With this being said, I have still gotten older and my wisdom lines and age spots are visibly, soft and exfoliated. I hate make up too!...sigh

I agree with Linds on the clinque. I just started using Clinques moisturing lotions and skin care and LOVE IT. I've never gotten results so fast and my skin stay silky smooth but NOT greasy.

What a coincidence. I went to a Mary Kay party last night, supporting a dear friend. We had a lot of fun sitting around the table giggling and sharing stories. I ended up buying their tinted lotion with spf 20. Makes the skin glow and protected from the sun in one step. Did you notice that product at your party? I think it's something you would like. Simple. I also love anyting Clinique. Most women in the East won't leave the house without their make up on...but I've got Western blood in me!
