Treated to Dinner

The kids made us dinner today for our Anniversary weekend. That's right... we napped while Katie headed up the cooking. Could it have been any nicer? No! After dinner, we opened a gift they had made for us... a book filled with their testimonies and family pictures. Each filled out a page and they even included blank ones for Larry & I to place ours. It's a treasure. Being parents has been the most joyful and hardest thing we have ever done. I think that's why parents love their children so much... we love who we serve. We have so much to be thankful for. We love you guys... thank you for taking such good care of us.

Car Found

After nearly two weeks of searching, Josh found the car of his dreams & budget. It's pretty nifty and he is hoping that it will pass it's checkup with flying colors tomorrow :)

29 Years

29 years together... amazing. Who would have thought that time could pass so quickly? We took the Kayak's up to Deer Creek and played in the afternoon. It was nice & sunny and Ransom found us the perfect spot... a bit of sun, a bit of shade and everyone's favorite junk food. Larry & I went to Mi Ranchitos for dinner and came home to scattered rose petals in our bedroom and the kids all conveniently made plans elsewhere... we were home alone for the rest of the evening, a treat that doesn't happen too often. It was a wonderful day to celebrate our 29 years together.

Pandora

Michael Jackson died yesterday. So did Farah Fawcett. Sad. I burst into tears. I grew up singing along to the Jackson 5 with my sisters... that's when music was on 45 records. Remember those? I have been thinking about him and wonder if he ever knew real love. He had seemingly everything, but does having everything bring you happiness? I think real love & contentment comes from the simple things in life... or is that what we as average people say to make ourselves feel better?

Josh & Lindsay at work have been listening to Pandora... it's usually the first thing they turn on when they get to work in the mornings! I tried it myself yesterday for the first time so I could listen to Michael Jackson and it is pretty easy... you put in an artist or song that you like and a radio station is created around your selection. Best part? No commercials AND it's free! They also supply the lyrics to sing along with, much to the dismay of those around me. I have discovered a new love today... www.pandora.com. Try it!

Collating

Every once in awhile the family project of collating begins at home... projects from Pebbles. Oh! the joys of a family business. It pretty much involves everyone pitching in because it takes up the whole kitchen. I don't think anyone likes to do it, but we turn on music, talk & laugh and somehow just being together makes it all ok and before we know it, we are done... until the next time :)

Ice Blocking

Our Father / Daughter activity at church was ice blocking at the park. The grassy hills are perfect. It's easy to do... just get a block of ice and throw a towel or rug on top of it. Sit or lay down and you are on your slip-sliding way. It's good cheap fun!

Caught in the Act

I went outside and to my surprise, Abby & Miranda were in the middle of decorating my car windows with window paint... quite colorfully. They continued on until every square inch was covered. I believe they have plans to expand into the neighborhood and spread the joy of their artwork...
