I love a good deal!

No one loves a good deal more than me. There is just something highly rewarding about it. We had an emergency preparation dinner at the church Friday night and learned some new tips we had never thought of. The bishop said to treat food like the stock market... buy low and eat high! The owner of Deals to Meals spoke to us and we learned to pick a half dozen or so meals that our family likes and get the complete ingredients for those dishes to complete a years supply and move on from there. Good advice.

I came home and right away went to dealstomeals.com and jumped in with both feet... a sometimes bad habit I have. I was beyond thrilled! This website compares the sale prices of all our local stores, along with Costco. I called my neighbor, Vicki Packham and we went shopping this morning to Walmart. I chose the red highlighted items that were the best deals and I saved big time. Pair the red items with downloadable coupons from coupons.com and the savings are huge... all with a very small time commitment. The monthly cost is $4.95 which I made up the first 2 minutes I was in Walmart. I still have the groceries stacked on the kitchen table... I just like to look at them. If you try it, let me know what you think ok? Thank you Vicki!!!

Fun! I hope I can figure something like that out when I have a family and am buying food for them.

I looked up the website deals to meals and they are only in the west. Nothing like that out here, but I do shop the ads. Everyone loves a good deal. Unfortunately, with all the humidity out here, unless it's in a can, food storage is tough to store without spoiling.
