Salt Lake Closed.

It's hard to come up with the words. Pebbles in my Pocket has been part of Salt Lake and my life for 17 years. But with the slowing economy, change in the market and my need to simplify life, it is time to close. We all went up to clear out, fill in holes and clean. Thank you family! Much of what was left was donated to kids at risk, which is a good thing. What I will miss most, are the wonderful women I have worked with and how good they have been to us. They are the spirit of Pebbles. It has been a struggle to juggle the needs of three retail stores while balancing home life. I am looking forward to focusing on our Orem store and making it special once again... there is much to do!

Young Women Basketball

We are surrounded by miracles each day of our lives. Abby is playing church basketball with the young women and she thinks it is okay! After being asked not to come to her first couple games, she finally gave me the ok and I grabbed my camera and headed over. To my surprise... many of the family showed up also, so she had a big cheering section :)

Sourdough Bread

Tonight we got a phone call from Ashlee who just pulled out loaves of fresh baked sour dough bread from her oven. "Would you like me to.... YES!!!" I cut her off before she finished her sentence. She came right over and while it was still piping hot, we sliced, buttered and smelled it. Thoughts of sour dough and my sister Becky came all at once. I can still see her fresh baked loaves, freshly brushed with butter on her counter. Her boys can easily down them both in one meal. When I told that to Ashlee, she said it was the biggest compliment of all. It was out of this world yummy good. The coolest thing about sourdough is that you have to make bread every 5 days to keep your start going. Thank you Ashlee. Looking forward to fresh bread :) Homesick for you Becky... and boys.

Carry Out...

Conrad wishes to be a fish, so Katie signed him up for swim lessons and he jumped right in and LOVED every minute of it. The instructor was teaching the class to blow bubbles, getting them ready for dipping their heads under water, but Conrad quickly dunked his head in, surprising everyone. Conrad was devastated when his lesson was over and wanted to keep swimming in the big pool. He begged and pleaded to stay, only having to be carried out in his Dad's arms crying ' I swim! I swim! Big Pool! Big Pool!' Next lesson is a long two day wait away :)

Neighborhood Mixer

Our Neighborhood Mixer Party at church was just what we needed during these long winter months... relaxing time spent with the people we love. Plenty of visiting and good laughs. Ron Smith kept us entertained as we played To Tell The Truth.

Snowbunny

Phoebe just had her first sledding adventure and loved it! She would make little gasps as the snow would fly in her face... all smiles. Conrad was hesitant at first and did not want to sled down the hill, no matter how much we tried to talk him into it. Instead, he was happy to pull a sled around the field and make snowballs. After he saw Phoebe go down, he quickly had a change of heart and joined in the fun!
